Having Fun with Silent Way!

I'd like to say that this was the worst show we ever played but that would be wrong. It'd also like to say that this was the worst show we played that week--but that would be wrong, too.

A lot of work went into making this set as awful as it was. Adrian had to bail on us last minute so Erin, who hadn't played with us in 4 or 5 months, was asked to fill in. We got a quickie practice before heading off to Brooklyn, luckily, otherwise this might have actually been our worst show. My guitar was still pretty busted up from winter tour, as well, and I was short a pedal or two that night, having to borrow one from eric.

Winter blues and other personal misgivings had us all feeling pretty lousy before we ever got on stage. I think we were the opening band that night so we didn't have much time to get back in our skin in after navigating rush-hour traffic before playing. Listening back to the tuneless mess that we made that night, I am reminded that we did play our tired hearts out with as much fury as we could muster--you can hear it in our hoarse yelling, many broken strings, and the guitars we refused to let stay in tune.
